As a Finance Intern at Standard Group, you will be embedded within a busy finance department, gaining hands-on exposure to accounting processes, financial reporting, and budgetary controls that underpin one of Kenya's most recognised media conglomerates. This is a rare opportunity to learn from seasoned finance professionals while contributing meaningfully to the Group's financial health.

• Assist in the preparation and processing of financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and journal entries
• Support monthly and periodic account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Help compile financial reports, summaries, and statements for internal review by senior finance staff
• Maintain and update financial records, spreadsheets, and databases using MS Excel and accounting software
• Assist in tracking departmental budgets and flagging variances for the attention of senior accountants
• Support internal and external audit processes by organising documentation and retrieving financial records as required
• Participate in petty cash management, expense processing, and supplier invoice verification
• Perform any other finance and accounting duties assigned by the Finance Manager or designated supervisor

• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field — candidates who have recently completed their degree or are in their final semester are encouraged to apply
• Must demonstrate strong numerical aptitude — able to work accurately with figures, spot discrepancies, and interpret basic financial data
• Must apply foundational accounting principles (double-entry bookkeeping, trial balances, accruals) in everyday tasks without close supervision
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel — able to use formulas, pivot tables, and basic data formatting to organise financial information efficiently
• CPA Part 2 qualification is an added advantage — candidates who are actively pursuing CPA will stand out
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
• Must communicate clearly in both written and spoken English — able to present findings and ask questions constructively within a team setting
• Familiarity with accounting or ERP systems (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is an added advantage

This is an internship role offered on a contract basis. Stipends for internships at organisations of Standard Group's scale in Kenya typically range between KES 20,000 – KES 35,000 per month. Specific remuneration details will be communicated during the recruitment process.
