• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, differentiated Kiswahili lessons aligned with curriculum objectives across CBC, KCPE, KCSE, and IGCSE frameworks.
• Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative evaluations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Prepare students for national and international examinations, including administering and invigilating assessments.
• Develop, review, and enhance curriculum materials to ensure continued relevance and pedagogical effectiveness.
• Maintain a well-organized, safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that nurtures curiosity and academic confidence.
• Analyze student performance data and implement targeted learning support strategies for underperforming learners.
• Promote positive behavior, discipline, and a culture of respect both inside and outside the classroom.
• Organize and participate in extracurricular activities including clubs, cultural events, sports, and school trips.
• Serve as a mentor and pastoral guide, providing academic and personal support to assigned students.
• Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings, professional briefings, training sessions, and whole-school events.
• Supervise and support trainee teachers and short-term guest educators in the department.
• Collaborate effectively with mentors, career advisors, school counselors, and other education professionals.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in Kiswahili education and modern teaching methodologies.
• Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned by the school administration.

• Demonstrate deep knowledge of Kiswahili language, literature, and curriculum requirements across CBC, KCSE, and IGCSE examination systems.
• Apply learner-centered, competency-based instructional approaches that cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
• Design and deliver differentiated lessons that challenge high achievers while supporting struggling learners.
• Use a variety of formative and summative assessment tools to track, report, and act on student progress effectively.
• Integrate modern educational technologies, digital resources, and innovative methodologies into everyday classroom practice.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills, maintaining order and a positive learning atmosphere at all times.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also operating independently with minimal supervision.
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a Kiswahili specialization or equivalent qualification.
• Possess a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of preparing candidates for KCSE, IGCSE, or Cambridge examinations with exemplary results.
• Hold valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and a current Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Demonstrate active involvement in co-curricular and extracurricular school activities.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the school's pay structure. Based on Kenyan market benchmarks for secondary school teachers with five or more years of experience and TSC registration, the estimated monthly gross salary ranges from KES 40,000 to KES 70,000.
