Connect Coffee Roasters, one of Kenya's leading specialty coffee roasting businesses, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Stock Controller to join their operations team in Nairobi. This is a critical role that ensures the smooth flow of materials, packaging, and finished goods across the production and distribution cycle — keeping shelves stocked, records accurate, and wastage firmly in check.
If you have a passion for operational excellence and thrive in a fast-paced food and beverage environment, this opportunity offers you the chance to make a tangible impact on one of Kenya's most beloved coffee brands. You will work closely with procurement, production, and finance teams to maintain inventory integrity at every stage of the supply chain.
- Monitor inventory levels on a continuous basis and maintain accurate, up-to-date stock records across all storage locations.
- Conduct scheduled and ad hoc stock counts, investigate variances, and reconcile inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Receive, inspect, and formally record all incoming stock deliveries, ensuring goods match purchase orders in quantity and quality.
- Coordinate stock replenishment activities with the procurement team to ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Prepare detailed inventory reports and stock analysis summaries for management review and decision-making.
- Design, implement, and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize losses, pilferage, and wastage.
- Maintain organized and safe storage conditions in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve delivery or stock-related issues promptly.
- Track expiry dates and batch numbers for perishable goods, ensuring FIFO (First In, First Out) principles are strictly observed.
- Support audits by providing accurate inventory documentation and supporting evidence.
- Must demonstrate proven ability to manage and reconcile inventory records with a high degree of accuracy.
- Must be able to prepare and interpret stock reports and present findings clearly to management.
- Must have hands-on experience using inventory management software or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo, or similar).
- Must be able to independently conduct stock counts and resolve discrepancies without constant supervision.
- Must demonstrate understanding of supply chain processes, particularly in a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Must exhibit strong organizational and time-management skills to meet reporting deadlines.
- Must be able to apply food safety and warehousing best practices in day-to-day stock handling.
- Must possess strong numerical aptitude and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a stock control, warehouse, or inventory management role is required.
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
The salary for this role is open and will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience. Based on Kenyan market benchmarks for a mid-level stock control professional in the food and beverage sector, compensation is estimated in the range of KES 50,000 – 90,000 per month. Connect Coffee Roasters is committed to offering a competitive and fair package to the right candidate.
- Competitive monthly salary commensurate with experience
- Opportunity to work with a well-established and growing Kenyan coffee brand
- Collaborative and dynamic team environment
This role is ideal for a meticulous, organized professional who has direct experience managing stock in a manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment. You are someone who takes ownership of inventory accuracy, understands the financial implications of stock discrepancies, and can work effectively across departments. You are comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse setting while also producing analytical reports for leadership.
You should NOT apply if you have no prior experience in stock or inventory control, if you are uncomfortable working in a warehouse environment, or if you require a purely desk-based role. Candidates without demonstrable experience in reconciling inventory records will not be shortlisted.
