Subject Teacher – Biology

ManPower Services is recruiting an experienced and passionate Biology Subject Teacher on behalf of a reputable school in Kenya. • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, differentiated Biology lessons aligned to CBC, KCPE, KCSE, and IGCSE/Cambridge curriculum objectives.
• Administer, invigilate, and mark formative and summative assessments to monitor and track individual student progress.
• Analyse student performance data and implement targeted interventions and support strategies for learners at all ability levels.
• Develop, review, and enrich curriculum materials to ensure continued relevance, rigour, and effectiveness.
• Maintain a well-organised, safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Promote positive behaviour, discipline, and a growth mindset both inside and outside the classroom.
• Serve as a mentor and pastoral guide, supporting students' academic, social, and personal development.
• Organise and participate in extracurricular activities such as science clubs, sports, school trips, and competitions.
• Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events.
• Supervise and support trainee teachers and short-term guest educators as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional education professionals including mentors, career advisors, and psychologists.
• Stay current with developments in Biology education and pedagogy through ongoing professional development.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably assigned by school leadership.

• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a specialisation in Biology or a closely related science subject.
• Must demonstrate at least five (5) years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of preparing candidates for CBC, KCSE, IGCSE, or Cambridge examinations with exemplary results.
• Must apply learner-centred, competency-based instructional approaches that cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
• Must design and implement varied assessment strategies — both formative and summative — to drive continuous student improvement.
• Must integrate modern educational technologies and innovative methodologies into Biology classroom practice.
• Must demonstrate strong classroom management, lesson planning, and organisational skills.
• Must foster an inclusive, positive, and high-expectations learning environment where every student can thrive.
• Must communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
• Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) — this is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Must show active involvement in co-curricular and extracurricular school activities.

The remuneration package for this role is competitive and aligned with TSC-registered teacher scales and the school's internal grading structure. Based on the seniority level and experience required, the estimated monthly gross salary ranges between KES 40,000 and KES 70,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
