Subject Teacher – Home Science

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Home Science lessons across multiple curriculum frameworks — including CBC, KCSE, and IGCSE — while actively contributing to the school's co-curricular programs, pastoral care, and professional learning community. • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, differentiated Home Science lessons aligned to CBC, KCSE, and IGCSE curriculum objectives.
• Assess and monitor student progress using a range of formative and summative evaluation tools, and maintain accurate, up-to-date academic records.
• Administer and invigilate examinations, ensuring adherence to examination regulations and integrity standards.
• Develop, review, and enhance curriculum materials to ensure continued relevance, quality, and effectiveness.
• Analyze student performance data and implement targeted interventions and learning support strategies for underperforming learners.
• Maintain a safe, well-organized, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and creativity.
• Promote positive discipline, respectful conduct, and strong values both inside and outside the classroom.
• Organize and participate in extracurricular activities including clubs, sports events, and school trips.
• Serve as a mentor and pastoral guide, offering academic and personal support to assigned students.
• Attend staff meetings, briefings, and school-wide events, contributing meaningfully to institutional goals.
• Supervise and support student teachers and short-term guest educators during placement periods.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary education professionals including mentors, career advisors, and school counselors.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in Home Science education and pedagogy.
• Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by school management.

• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a specialization in Home Science or a related discipline.
• Must demonstrate at least five (5) years of classroom teaching experience, with a proven track record of successfully handling KCSE, IGCSE, Cambridge, or CBC candidate classes with exemplary results.
• Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and hold a valid TSC certificate.
• Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
• Must demonstrate ability to plan and deliver competency-based, differentiated lessons that address diverse learning needs and styles.
• Must integrate modern educational technologies and innovative methodologies into day-to-day classroom practice.
• Must show proven ability to manage classroom dynamics, maintain order, and foster an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Must demonstrate active and sustained participation in co-curricular and extracurricular school activities.
• Must communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and work collaboratively within a professional team setting.
• Must be capable of working independently, managing time efficiently, and maintaining high standards of professional conduct without close supervision.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, estimated in the range of KES 40,000 – 70,000 per month based on Kenyan secondary school teacher market benchmarks. Final remuneration will be discussed and confirmed during the selection process.
