Cleaner

Excelon Limited, a leading HR solutions provider serving the MSME sector in Kenya, is looking for a diligent and reliable Cleaner to join their facilities team. This is a full-time, onsite position based across their Nairobi and Thika offices. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment for staff, clients, and visitors.

• Clean and sanitize all office areas including workstations, meeting rooms, reception areas, corridors, and common spaces on a daily basis.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floor surfaces to maintain a neat and presentable environment throughout the day.
• Dust and wipe down desks, furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, and other office fittings regularly.
• Empty and dispose of waste from trash bins in all areas following proper waste disposal procedures.
• Clean and disinfect all restroom facilities; replenish hygiene supplies including soap, paper towels, and tissue paper as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and pantry areas, including washing sinks, wiping countertops, and cleaning appliances such as microwaves and refrigerators.
• Monitor and refill cleaning and hygiene supply stocks, reporting low inventory to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Identify and promptly report any maintenance issues, equipment faults, or safety hazards to the relevant department.
• Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety regulations and internal cleaning protocols at all times.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored safely and correctly after use.

• Ability to follow structured daily cleaning schedules and complete tasks within set timeframes without constant supervision.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic sanitation and hygiene standards applicable in an office or commercial environment.
• Ability to handle and correctly use cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Physical stamina and fitness to perform repetitive manual tasks such as mopping, sweeping, and lifting supplies throughout a full working day.
• Ability to identify and report maintenance faults or potential safety hazards proactively.
• Good interpersonal skills to work respectfully and cooperatively alongside office staff and fellow cleaners.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to manage supply inventories and follow written instructions.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in a similar cleaning or janitorial role is an advantage, though not mandatory for entry-level candidates.

The monthly salary for this role is estimated in the range of KES 15,000 – KES 25,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Ideal candidate: You are a hardworking, honest, and physically fit individual who takes cleanliness seriously. You hold at least a KCSE certificate and may have prior experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial work, though fresh candidates are also welcome to apply.
