Content Production Associate

Shamiri Institute is looking for a talented and driven Content Production Associate to join its communications team in Nairobi. This is a hands-on production role at the heart of how Shamiri tells its story — through compelling short-form video, polished graphics, and social-first visual content that reaches audiences across digital platforms. You will own the day-to-day creation of publish-ready video and graphic assets that bring Shamiri's mission to life with consistency, creativity, and brand precision.

As Shamiri's audiences increasingly discover and engage with the organization through visual and video content, this role plays a critical part in building the visibility, trust, and engagement needed for the organization to grow its reach and influence. You will work closely with the Multimedia & Content Production Lead and the Brand and Social Media Manager to ensure a steady pipeline of high-quality, on-brand content that accurately represents Shamiri's work across all channels.

• Own day-to-day production of short-form video for Shamiri's social and digital platforms
• Shoot and capture original footage on location and at Shamiri events including the Summit, The Gathering, and community activations
• Operate cameras, mobile devices, and basic audio/recording equipment during shoots
• Edit and assemble footage into finished, platform-ready video outputs
• Re-cut and repurpose existing footage into new content formats for different platforms
• Add captions, simple motion graphics, and sound to video content
• Adapt and resize video content across platforms and formats (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
• Produce social media graphics, carousels, slide decks, and presentation visuals
• Apply Shamiri's brand identity and visual templates consistently across all outputs
• Maintain organized libraries of video and graphic assets for reuse and reference
• Manage production schedules to ensure a reliable flow of content
• Collaborate with the Multimedia & Content Production Lead on complex or large-scale productions
• Coordinate with the Brand and Social Media Manager to align content with platform priorities
• Partner with teams across Shamiri to source stories, footage, and relevant information

• Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit short-form video for social media platforms to a professional standard
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut at a production-ready level
• Ability to produce social media graphics and carousels using tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva Pro
• Experience applying and maintaining a brand identity consistently across multiple content formats and channels
• Proven ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously and deliver on time within a fast-paced environment
• Strong visual eye and aesthetic sensibility — able to make creative decisions beyond templated work
• Experience adding captions, basic motion graphics, and sound design to video content
• Ability to organize and maintain digital asset libraries and production records systematically
• Comfortable operating in field settings — capturing footage at events, community sites, and on location
• Strong collaboration skills — able to coordinate across teams, take direction, and incorporate feedback effectively

Shamiri Institute has listed this position as open salary, reflecting flexibility based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. Based on the nature of this role and Kenyan NGO/communications market benchmarks, the estimated monthly compensation range is KES 80,000 – 130,000.
