Data Analyst

Infotrak Research and Consulting, one of Kenya's leading market research and data intelligence firms, is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join its growing team. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of statistical rigour and business strategy — designing survey instruments, managing large datasets, building predictive models, and delivering insights that guide both internal and client-facing decisions. • Design, manage, and analyse complex datasets from multiple research streams, ensuring data integrity and consistency throughout the research lifecycle.
• Develop and apply statistical models and quantitative analytical frameworks to extract meaningful insights from structured and unstructured data.
• Lead survey sampling design and implement appropriate weighting methodologies for nationally representative and targeted research projects.
• Conduct end-to-end quantitative research analysis including data cleaning, coding, tabulation, and interpretation.
• Build dynamic dashboards and visual reports using Power BI, Tableau, and PowerPoint to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Translate data findings into clear, concise reports and presentations that support strategic recommendations for clients and internal leadership.
• Ensure rigorous data quality assurance processes are followed across all research projects, including validation checks and peer review protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers, research leads, and field teams to align analytical outputs with project objectives and client deliverables.
• Stay current with emerging trends in data analytics, statistical methods, and research technology to continuously improve analytical capabilities.

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field (Master's degree is an added advantage).
• Must demonstrate at least 5 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, statistical modelling, survey research, and professional reporting.
• Must be proficient in operating statistical software including SPSS, STATA, R, and/or Python for data manipulation, modelling, and analysis.
• Must be able to design survey samples independently, apply weighting techniques, and defend methodological choices to clients or peer reviewers.
• Must produce publication-quality visualisations and BI dashboards using Power BI or Tableau without supervision.
• Must demonstrate the ability to handle large, messy, and multi-source datasets — cleaning, merging, and preparing them for analysis efficiently.
• Must communicate analytical findings clearly in written reports, executive summaries, and live presentations to diverse audiences.
• Must apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose data anomalies and resolve them systematically.
• Must be capable of managing multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Infotrak offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications. Based on the seniority of this role and prevailing Kenyan market rates for mid-to-senior data professionals in the research sector, the estimated monthly gross salary ranges between KES 150,000 and KES 250,000. Final compensation will be discussed during the interview process.

Ideal candidate: You are a quantitatively trained professional with at least five years of experience in a research, consulting, or data-intensive environment. You are comfortable working across the full data pipeline — from questionnaire design to final client presentation. You have a strong command of at least two statistical tools and can visualise data for both technical peers and executive stakeholders. You are self-driven, methodical, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.
