Data Analyst Team Lead

Rainforest Alliance is seeking an experienced and driven Data Analyst Team Lead to join its Data Products function. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Products, you will spearhead the development of data-as-a-product solutions that serve producers, market partners, and consumers across global sustainability supply chains. This is a hybrid leadership and hands-on role — approximately 50% of your time will be dedicated to strategic initiatives and team leadership, while the remaining 50% will involve direct operational project work.

You will bring a sharp analytical mindset and a collaborative spirit to translate complex data needs into actionable, high-impact solutions. You will co-develop the product roadmap, prioritize team deliverables, and champion a culture of continuous improvement within the analytics function. Your work will directly contribute to Rainforest Alliance's mission of driving positive environmental and social impact for producer partners and the planet.

• Lead and manage a team of 3–4 data analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development support.
• Ensure early identification and involvement in organizational initiatives that carry a data component so that requirements are captured from the outset.
• Stay current with emerging data reporting technologies and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
• Elicit and translate data reporting needs from external clients and prospective customers into deliverable solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to surface data-driven insights that translate into actionable outcomes for external stakeholders.
• Partner with Product Managers to ensure all data requirements are embedded in tooling specifications and product development cycles.
• Work closely with the data engineering team to align roadmaps, manage dependencies, and co-design robust data engineering solutions.
• Continuously improve reporting capabilities across both analytics teams within the organization.
• Own and oversee the rollout of dashboards across the organization, supporting project-specific deployments in collaboration with the Implementation team.
• Drive internal stakeholder alignment throughout the customer rollout process.
• Periodically engage field colleagues and data-gathering stakeholders to proactively identify potential reporting biases and risks.
• Establish a standardized approach for gathering regional insights and integrating them into internal reports to support bottom-up strategy development.
• Identify and implement opportunities to integrate data efficiently to maximize engagement and ease of use across the organization.

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis through at least 7 years of hands-on reporting and analysis experience.
• Manage and mentor junior analysts effectively, drawing on at least 1 year of formal management experience or equivalent coaching and training responsibilities.
• Build end-to-end data visualization solutions using tools such as Power BI and Tableau, from data modelling to dashboard deployment.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into clear, structured data requirements and deliver solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, compelling, and action-oriented manner.
• Identify and mitigate biases in data collection and reporting processes through proactive stakeholder engagement and methodological rigour.
• Prioritize and manage competing workstreams across a team, balancing strategic planning with day-to-day delivery.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and field operations in a distributed, multicultural environment.
• Demonstrate fluency in English (written and spoken) at a professional level; additional languages are an asset.

Rainforest Alliance offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and aligned with INGO sector benchmarks in Kenya. The estimated monthly salary range for this role is KES 200,000 – KES 350,000. You should NOT apply if you have fewer than 5 years of data reporting experience, if you have no exposure to data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, or if you are looking for a purely managerial role with no hands-on analytical work. Candidates without demonstrated experience translating business needs into data solutions are unlikely to succeed in this position.
