Facility Administrator

Equity Afia, one of Kenya's leading healthcare networks, is seeking a competent and driven Facility Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations of one of its medical centres. This is a pivotal leadership role that sits at the intersection of healthcare delivery and operational management, requiring someone who can keep clinical and administrative functions running smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with healthcare regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing facility resources, supervising staff, maintaining compliance with healthcare laws and ethical standards, and ensuring patients receive the highest quality of care. • Oversee all administrative and operational functions of the medical facility on a daily basis, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and performance of both clinical and non-clinical teams within the facility.
• Manage facility budgets, track expenditures, and prepare financial reports to support informed decision-making.
• Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with Kenyan healthcare laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Maintain and optimise the use of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) to track patient data, reporting, and facility performance metrics.
• Develop and implement operational policies and standard operating procedures to improve service efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Handle crisis situations, resolve operational challenges promptly, and escalate issues where necessary.
• Liaise with medical staff, support departments, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth facility operations.
• Monitor inventory of medical supplies and equipment, coordinating procurement and maintenance as required.
• Prepare regular performance reports and present findings to senior management for review and strategic planning.

• Demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Apply knowledge of health information systems to generate timely and accurate facility reports.
• Manage budgets responsibly — tracking costs, identifying variances, and recommending corrective measures.
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff, patients, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Interpret and apply Kenyan healthcare laws, ethical standards, and institutional policies in daily operations.
• Analyse operational data to identify gaps, improve workflows, and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Respond calmly and decisively during emergencies or operational crises, maintaining facility continuity.
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field.
• Possess a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in a similar facility or healthcare administrative role.
• Be proficient in computer applications, with hands-on experience using Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).

The salary for this role is competitive and aligned with Equity Afia's internal pay structures. Based on market benchmarks for mid-level healthcare management roles in Kenya, the estimated monthly gross is in the range of KES 80,000 – 150,000, subject to qualifications and experience.
