Security Supervisor – KBL Ruaraka

AGL Africa Global Logistics, a leading multimodal logistics operator and proud member of the MSC family, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Supervisor to support operations at the KBL Ruaraka Warehouse in Nairobi. This is a full-time, site-based role that places you at the heart of securing one of the most dynamic logistics environments in East Africa.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical security of company property, cargo, personnel, and clients within the KBL Ruaraka premises. You will lead contracted security teams, enforce compliance with security protocols, and act as the primary liaison between AGL and client security management teams. This is a role for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives under pressure in a fast-paced Supply Chain or FMCG environment.

• Prevent theft, vandalism, and damage to company and client property within the warehouse premises.
• Oversee regular rotation and deployment of sub-contracted security guards across all access points and control rooms.
• Ensure all security incidents are promptly logged in the occurrence book and escalated to the relevant authorities with appropriate follow-up action.
• Liaise with local police on matters of alleged intrusion or cargo theft, and follow up cases to conclusion.
• Enforce security procedures for all employees, contractors, and clients accessing the premises.
• Conduct routine checks to ensure all security equipment — including CCTV systems, alarms, perimeter fencing, and access controls — are fully operational and maintained.
• Maintain a secure and accurate register of all main door keys and access credentials.
• Verify that all goods leaving the premises are accompanied by valid authorisation documents and gate passes.
• Identify gaps in existing security procedures and implement timely corrective measures.
• Develop, issue, and implement site-specific security plans in alignment with client requirements.
• Conduct thorough investigations into on-site and off-site security incidents where justified.
• Implement and periodically test the emergency evacuation plan for the work site.
• Monitor and enforce QHSE regulations and site safety requirements, acting on non-compliance immediately.
• Interface regularly with the client's security management team and contribute to joint security reviews.
• Carry out any additional security or warehouse-related tasks as directed by senior leadership.

• Ability to lead and supervise contracted security personnel across multiple shift patterns, including day and night rotations.
• Demonstrated experience identifying security vulnerabilities and implementing practical, effective countermeasures.
• Competency in operating and monitoring CCTV systems, alarm systems, and access control technologies.
• Strong incident documentation skills — able to write clear, factual occurrence reports and investigation findings.
• Proven ability to liaise professionally with law enforcement agencies and client security teams.
• Experience enforcing gate control procedures, including verification of authorisation documents and gate passes.
• Sound understanding of QHSE compliance standards within a logistics or warehousing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on security supervisory experience within a Supply Chain, FMCG, or busy warehousing environment.
• A degree in Criminology or a closely related field; a Security Certification is an added advantage.
• Flexibility to work across day and night shifts as operational needs demand.

AGL Africa Global Logistics offers a competitive compensation package aligned with industry standards. While the specific salary for this role has not been publicly disclosed, market benchmarks for Security Supervisors at this level in Nairobi typically range between KES 60,000 – KES 100,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
