Tutorial Fellow – Educational Research, Evaluation & Assessment

The successful candidate will support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the department, assist in curriculum delivery, and be expected to actively pursue doctoral studies in a relevant area of specialisation. • Assist in the delivery of lectures, tutorials, and seminars in Educational Research, Evaluation and Assessment and related disciplines
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in research projects and fieldwork activities
• Participate in the development, review, and implementation of course materials and curricula
• Conduct and contribute to academic research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
• Assist senior faculty in marking, grading, and providing constructive feedback to students
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university outreach programmes
• Pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant field as a mandatory requirement of the role
• Support the administration of assessments, examinations, and evaluation activities within the department
• Engage in continuous professional development and keep abreast of developments in the field of education research

• Must hold a Master's degree in Educational Management/Administration/Leadership, Curriculum Studies, Educational Planning and Economics of Education, or Educational Research, Evaluation and Assessment from an accredited and recognised university
• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited and recognised university with a strong academic track record
• Ability to design and deliver university-level instruction that engages diverse student populations
• Demonstrated capacity to conduct independent academic research and contribute to scholarly output
• Ability to use data-driven approaches in educational assessment and programme evaluation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for academic and professional audiences
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic department
• Prior teaching experience at university level will be a distinct added advantage
• Candidates already registered for a PhD in a relevant field will have an added advantage
• Must demonstrate willingness and readiness to enrol in and complete a PhD programme as required

Kenyatta University offers a competitive remuneration package in line with the Commission for University Education guidelines and the university's human resource policies. The estimated monthly gross salary for a Tutorial Fellow ranges between KES 100,000 and KES 150,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
