Reporting to senior leadership, the successful candidates will drive membership expansion, deposits growth, loan portfolio performance, and non-funded income generation. - Develop and implement business development and growth strategies to achieve membership, deposits, loan, and income growth targets across assigned branches.
- Supervise and provide direct business support to Branch Managers and branch business teams to deliver agreed performance targets.
- Cascade annual targets to Branch Managers, monitor performance regularly, and provide hands-on guidance to close performance gaps.
- Drive growth in membership, deposits, loans, non-funded income, and product uptake through disciplined execution of business plans.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and compelling member value propositions.
- Analyse market trends, member needs, and competitor activity to continuously refine strategy and tactical action plans.
- Support product development, pricing, promotions, and campaigns to increase product uptake and active usage among members.
- Monitor portfolio quality, loan recovery efforts, and risk indicators in close collaboration with credit and risk departments.
- Prepare accurate and timely performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and the Board.

- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional teams simultaneously.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to Board-level audiences.

Quantify your impact: Include specific numbers on membership growth %, deposit increases, loan portfolio expansion, and non-funded income generation from previous roles — this is what the employer cares most about.
Highlight supervisory success: Detail how many branch teams you've managed, examples of branch manager coaching, and how you've improved performance discipline across teams.

- Reputable client base: The employer works with member-focused cooperative institutions, which are stable, mission-driven employers with strong community roots in Kenya.
- Competitive salary range with growth potential: The KES 180k–300k range suggests strong upside based on performance, typical for results-driven business development roles.

Watch Out
- Job description is incomplete — the 'Required Skills' section cuts off mid-sentence, suggesting the posting may not have been fully reviewed or finalized before publication.
- Two positions are being recruited simultaneously but no clarity on whether candidates are competing for the same role or assigned to different regions — this ambiguity could affect expectations.
- No mention of benefits, allowances, relocation support, or performance bonuses — unusual for a KES 180k–300k role; clarify total compensation structure before applying.
A Day in the Life
