Shop Attendant – Skincare & Beauty Products

Our client, a dynamic skincare and beauty retail brand based in Nairobi, is seeking a passionate and results-driven Shop Attendant to join their growing team. In this role, you will be the face of the brand — responsible for driving in-store sales, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and contributing to the brand's growing social media presence. • Greet and assist customers in-store, guiding them through product selections based on their skincare needs and preferences.
• Actively drive product sales by upselling and cross-selling complementary skincare and beauty items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shop floor and product display at all times.
• Participate in TikTok and other social media content creation to promote products and engage online audiences.
• Process customer transactions accurately and handle cash or digital payments responsibly.
• Monitor stock levels, flag low inventory, and assist with stock replenishment and rotation.
• Build lasting customer relationships through personalized service and follow-up communication.
• Meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets set by management.
• Stay updated on new product launches, ingredients, and skincare trends to provide informed recommendations.
• Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate where necessary.

• Demonstrated ability to engage customers warmly and convert inquiries into sales in a retail or service environment.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets or KPIs in a previous sales, retail, or beauty role — even informally.
• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in English and Swahili, both verbally and in written form.
• Comfortable appearing on camera and contributing to short-form video content on TikTok or Instagram.
• Skilled at upselling and closing sales without being pushy — using product knowledge and empathy.
• Demonstrates strong personal grooming and a polished, professional appearance consistent with a beauty brand image.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay motivated toward targets without constant supervision.
• Prior experience in skincare, cosmetics, retail, or customer-facing roles is an added advantage.
• A valid Police Clearance Certificate is an added advantage and may be required before onboarding.

The salary for this position is competitive and aligned with Kenyan market rates for retail sales roles in the beauty industry, estimated at KES 25,000 – 45,000 per month depending on experience and performance. Additional earnings may be available through sales commissions or performance-based incentives. Specific compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
